Very forgiving layout, excellent condition. Greens FAST and with some subtle breaks - my biggest problem was figuring out the speed and break on some of the greens. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent service. Fair test from the green tees for an older guy (like me).

Group in front was extremely slow. Lots of "backtracking" to get to follow on holes, but adding another 18 which should prevent that in the future. Thought this course was a great value and fairways are tight.

Site was under construction to add another 18 holes and was not too well marked. Construction was not mentioned when making reservations and it definately came into "play" by moving you through areas and not marking them very well.

Before heading back home, I decided to play one last time and the “River Course” lives up to its name. I believe there are four (4) holes (7,11,13,14) that water doesn’t come in to play and the rest, sometimes on every shot. Got paired up up with John & Mark from Ohio as they too were tired of being home bound with restrictions to golfing. Was recommended by the Starter (Our Hcp’s) to play Green tees on Front 9 at 3,157yds and Blue at 3,165yd for this Par 36/36 Links layout. This was great advice for all four (4) Par 4’s were 402 to 455yds with long forced carries and mostly water. With the five (5) tees of 7,120 down to 4,967yds you have many levels of challenges. The #1 a 417yd has water tee carry and water all left to the green. Fairways are very generous and cut close but we’re a little soft because of recent rains. The #2 a 377yd Par 4 has another double water carry with stream 110yds from green to contain big hitters. The short #3 Par 5 at 463yds gave us faith in our straight but safe club selection. The #1 Hcp Hole 5 Par 4 plays from 487-355yds so our Green 419yds was a good choice. The #7 Par 5 played 425yds so we chose the Blue at 493yd with a narrow fairway, all the way home. The #9 hole par 3 at 173yd has a waste area in front of green so long is good. This is a old school “Traditional” Links layout so you’re in for the full 18 holes. The #10 is a Par 5 that’s short on yardage 481yd but water all left side to the green. Holes 11 through 15 remove water but add winding fairways keep you on your toes. On #15 we chose the Black 394yd tees that had a 180yd water carry to fairway...,.why not. Finishing with the #2 Hcp 538yd Par 5 was a challenge right to the end with water all left to the green tucked behind water...why not. Great course with conditions to match with some scattered fairway/green side sand traps that were in good shape. If water On almost every shot makes you nervous, this is not your track. Enjoyed shooting 38/41 w/35 putts as hitting the large greens made the four (4) hour loop, a little more fun.
